Wanted: Words from Mums [08.01.2010]
Submissions wanted from mums!
Wombat Books is currently open for submissions of short stories from mums on the following three topics. Submissions wanted as early as possible, however cut off dates may be extended while we search for the best stories. Check out the websites for more information.
1) All the details: A collection of birth stories from Aussie women. The title kind of says it all. Stories is the main focus, a very small amount of poetry may be included. Photos only in black and white and good quality. The stories should be encouraging and uplifting to inspire new mums to be. Any length is fine. Small payments will be made for inclusion. 2) Working and mothering: a real balancing act. Tips, ideas, how to mother and work. A strong focus on working from home, but also some stories of working away from the home and how to balance that. See the website for more details.
3) In God’s Hands: Overcoming miscarriage in a broken world. A collection of personal stories about miscarriage and overcoming and parenting still no matter the situation. This book will have a focus on early miscarriage and pregnancy loss. See the website for more details.
